How do I obtain a police report?
You can come in during normal business hours from 9-5 Monday-Friday and fill out a Records Release form with the Records Clerk. Please be ready to show a photo ID and pay a $2.00 fee at this time. Upon approval you will be contacted when the report is ready for release. 

Where can I pay a penalty assessment ticket issued by the Silt Police Department?
Penalty assessment tickets can be paid by coming into the Silt Town Hall or by mailing the payment with the ticket to PO Box 70, Silt, Colorado.  We accept checks, cash or money orders for payment.

How do I get a hold of an officer if town hall is closed?
If it is a non emergency, you can call our dispatch center at 625-8095. If it is an emergency then you must call 911. During normal business hours, M-F 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., you can call the police department at 876-2735.

Is there a leash law in the Town of Silt?
Yes, all dogs must be on a ten foot leash at all times within the town limits of Silt. Areas designated by the town as rest areas may be used to walk or exercise dogs. (S.M.C. 6.04.270)

What are the laws regarding child restraint systems?
Children must be in a rear facing child safety seat until they are at least one year old and weigh at least 20 lbs.
Children ages one year to four years who weigh 20 lbs up to 40 lbs must be restrained in a forward facing child safety seat.
Children who weight over 40 OR who are at least four years old but less than six years old be properly restrained in a child booster seat or with child safety belt positioning device, unless they are 55 inches tall.  

How do I find out about registered Sex Offenders residing in Silt? 
You can come down to the Silt Police Department and request the information during normal business hours of Monday -Friday 9-5. You may be asked to fill out a release form and show proper identification.
