Hello, I am Betsy Suerth, your new Town Administrator.  I am honored to join such a knowledgeable, dedicated staff at the Town of Silt.  Many of us are new to Silt, but have backgrounds and experience that compliment each other well.  We invite you to visit Town Hall or one of our community events to meet us.  We also regularly visit the neighborhoods of Silt and hope to meet some of you during our workday.  Our goal is to continue to offer our citizenry a high level of service and to be constantly improving our operations to meet your needs.

My experience in the public sector (both as a volunteer and in staff positions) has been as a Planning and Zoning Commissioner for many years both in the Liberty, Missouri and for the Town of Basalt.  I then served as the Project Manager and the Deputy Town Manager for the Town of Basalt.  My background has largely been technical, with undergraduate and graduate degrees in the engineering field. My private sector experience has been in the fields of construction, manufacturing and as a consultant engineer.  I believe my background gives me a unique understanding of viewpoints from many angles; and I hope that will help me contribute to achieving your goals for the future of Silt.

In 2008, we will be examining your Comprehensive Plan for the Town to address needed updates and revisions.  Silt is facing rapid growth pressures with many annexations and development approvals pending and more expected in the coming months and years.  A current and applicable Comprehensive Plan is especially important during growth periods because it is our guide to create the community you envision.  We hope that you will participate somehow in this plan update.  Please let us know if you would like to play a role in the process.
