Town Statement Regarding Regulation of Signs & Flags

In accordance with the U.S. Supreme Court's decision in Reed v. Town of Gilbert, AZ, the Town of Silt regulates the size and placement of signs and flags, but does not regulate non-sexual content.  In accordance with Section 17.60.070 of the Silt Municipal Code, the following standards apply:

Flags, pennants or insignia:        Up to 3 flags on a property with maximum 24 square feet of area
                                                         27 feet maximum height for freestanding flags
                                                         12 feet maximum height for pennants, insignia, or wall-mounted flags
                                                         6 feet minimum setback from property line

Yard signs:                                      One sign per property
                                                         6 square feet maximum sign area
                                                         5 feet maximum height of sign
                                                         6 feet minimum setback from property line
